Frequently asked questions

I get e-mails every day, can I reduce this?

The default setting for members is to send an e-mail every day if at least on of your targets is matched. We have found that this is a useful way for members to confirm that Zeezaw is doing what they expect.

If you are receiving an e-mail every day, but the price isn't changing or you are not quite ready to buy at that price there are a few options available to you:

  1. On the My Account page, update the Price Alert Preferences:

  2. Reduce the target price of the item (or items) that are being matched too frequently.

  3. To stop monitoring an item completely, just set your target price to 0.

Why can't Zeezaw find my Wish List?

There could be a few reasons why Zeezaw can't see your Wish List. The most common reason is that your Wish List on the Amazon website is not set to be "public". To check that your list is public, follow these two simple steps:

  1. Go to your Wish List(s) on the Amazon site and from the "Manage this list" menu choose "Change privacy settings"

  2. Ensure that the list is set to public and that it is "searchable on Amazon" as shown below:

Note that you can have more than one Wish List on the Amazon website, each one having its own privacy setting.

Another reason that Zeezaw may not be able to find your Wish List is that it has only just been created. It can sometimes take several minutes for a new list to become publicly available.

Your Wish List is always visible to you when you are logged in to your Amazon account. If you would like to check to see if your Wish List is publicly available, ensure that you are not logged on to the Amazon website by clicking the "(Not <your name>?)" link, available at the top of most of the pages.

You can then click on "Gifts & Wish Lists" and search for your e-mail address.

Why are the prices being shown with the wrong currency?

Zeezaw uses the amazon domain to determine which currency to display for items. If your Wish List is on amazon.com or amazon.ca, the prices will be shown with a $ sign. For amazon.fr and amazon.de, you will see the € sign and for amazon.co.uk, the £ sign. If you are seeing the wrong currency, this is almost certainly because Zeezaw has found a Wish List and is displaying the currency symbol for that territory.

The flag shown next to the Wish List on the list choice page shows which of the Amazon sites returned the list.

Do I have to have a Wish List of my own to use Zeezaw?

No, you don't have to have a Wish List of your own. You can use your own if you have one, but you can also set prices on Wish Lists belonging to family and friends, so it's ideal for Christmas, birthdays or for simply treating that special someone.

Why is the price on Amazon not the same as shown on Zeezaw?

Sometimes, when you click on the product link on Zeezaw, the price shown on the Amazon page isn't what you expected. Don't worry, it is very unlikely that anything has gone wrong.

Normally the price shown on the Amazon page that you land on will be the Amazon price. If you are looking for a new or used price, you need to click on the appropriate new or used link below the main product description.

Zeezaw note: We have noticed that on rare occasions, the item shown on the page you land on is not the Amazon price, nor is it the cheapest. The following example demonstrates this very well. In this first image, you can see that the Amazon price is £19.99:

The price shown is from Amazon at £19.99, just as Zeezaw reported, the landing page (in the second image) shows the product from another seller. Unfortunately, we can't explain why this happens and it is not something that we at Zeezaw can control.

What is Zeezaw?

Zeezaw is a new site that lets you set prices for items on Amazon Wish Lists. You decide how much you'd be willing to pay for an item and we check Amazon prices for you every day.

Other deal finding and price comparison sites scour a variety of online stores, but only look for the best price at that moment in time.

At Zeezaw, you choose the price you want to pay for items on Amazon Wish Lists and then we monitor them on a daily basis. We send you an e-mail to let you know when the deal you want is available.

What is a Wish List?

We like to think of Wish Lists as window shopping. You can browse Amazon's site for products you want and add them to your list as reminders for later or to let your friends and family know what you would like. Your friends and family can search for your Wish List by using your email address and view the things you want, and perhaps if you are lucky, they can purchase any of these items and have them shipped direct to you!

You can manage your Wish List easily and even state how much you really want the item. This is great for dropping hints nearer Christmas or birthdays.

How do I create a Wish List?

Creating a Wish List is simple and fun. Just browse on the Amazon site, find something you like and click "add to Wish List" and the product is saved within your account. You can find lots of helpful information about Amazon Wish Lists at Amazon.

What is your relationship with Amazon?

How do I sign up to Zeezaw?

It's easy and quick. All we need from you is the email address you use when shopping with Amazon, and a nice secure password for use on our site. Please don't use the same password you have on Amazon!

How often do prices on Amazon drop?

Like any store Amazon features sales, and special offers on items. However, unlike physical stores Amazons prices fluctuate more often. You could check your Wish List manually every day, but Zeezaw has been specifically designed to do this for you. We can help you to keep track of products you don't need urgently, but you want to save some money on. You will find that larger electrical goods have a tendency to drop in price more dramatically, think of the potential savings!

How do I update my account information?

Click on My Account. From here you can change your password, email address or cancel your membership.

Can I copy or move my Amazon Wish List (eg. from .com to .co.uk)?

Unfortunately not. Due to the availability of different items in different regions and the way in which the information is managed internally, Amazon don't provide any automated way to achieve this.

Our best suggestion at the moment is that you create the new Wish List and add the items that are the most important for you to set targets on first.

Will you pass my personal details to any third parties?

No, definitely not. We pride ourselves in working exclusively alongside Amazon and no one else. We don't even advertise for anyone other than Amazon. Feel free to peruse our Privacy Policy for more about how we protect your information.

Can I retrieve my password if I forget it?

In this day and age we all have a multitude of passwords for email, blogs, social networking, banking, etc. etc. etc. Everybody forgets their passwords now and again, so don't worry if you do with us. Simply click on the forgotten password link on the home page, enter the email address you registered with and we will send you a reminder, but only to the e-mail address you used to register.

How do I delete my account?

On the My Account page you will find instructions of how to cancel your membership with our service. If there is a problem and you haven't found the answer here, please do e-mail us at support@zeezaw.co.uk. If there is something we can do to help, we will do our best to resolve the issue.

How can this service possibly be free?

As an associate of Amazon, they reward us through commission on the sale of items you buy using our service. There are no hidden costs to you, you still get exactly the same great deal as you would if you bought direct through Amazon. We simply offer a convenient, hassle free alternative to manual monitoring of all the items on your Wish List.
